The Grab Bag of Topics

Nosmo's Word of the Day
I want to apologize for the following because it breaks a cardinal rule of blogging. This is something I had written and posted a long time ago. I reposted it for two reasons:
1) It is interesting to go back and read old stuff you have written and take note of the change in 'voice' of your writing style. I have to admit it has change. I wonder if it has changed for the better?
2) Because the sample of writing below is ironic due to the fact that I have been finding it more difficult everyday to come up with things to write about in this blog. Some times I feel like I am repeating myself over and over again, preaching and lamenting about the same thing day in and day out. Even more ironic is that this blog really isn't about anything and so there is no real limit on what I can write and post. Irony is not the word of the day, it is my life's theme.

Good topics are in short order these days, I will have to admit. There are so many people writing on the interwebz, covering so many things I wish I had covered but didn't have the foresight to grab hold of them before it was history vice news. But a good writer can enthrall his readers despite it all, he can make them care about things they have no business caring about.

Perhaps that will be my motif. 'Making you care about that which you have no business caring about.' I jest, really.

I guess, if I were to reach into this bag of miscellaneous topics, I could pull out almost anything. (More frequently, cat related topics that go well with some silly 'I Can Haz Cheese Burgers' jpegs I purloined from Google images) The sky is the limit. Contrary to popular beliefs held by bored husbands and porn hungry teenage boys everywhere, there is no end to the Internet and therefore there can be no end to the warehouse of available topics. -Nosmo

  1. I also find it difficult to come up with a topic to write about so I find it easier to talk a lot about nothing.

  2. I think I come up with a lot of topics, just not always topics that people want to talk about. LOL. So, I suppose I'm not really struggling with topics so much as struggling with good topics.

  3. Any topic is good - you just need the right audience.

To write a haiku each line requires the proper beats which is 5, 7, 5

There is more to it than that I think but it's one of those things I just "get".

  5. There's rules to blogging?

When in doubt I fall back on my mad poetic skizzies and Savage Facts...

  6. I think the most compelling topics are the things that you are most interested in.

  7. The Savage: The moment anything in the universe comes into existence it is given a set of rules. Rules only cease to exist when no one breaks them. So, do us all a favor and break the rules. LOL.

Laoch: Sometimes it's hard to determine what it is I am interested in. Maybe that's my problem.
